Third-party licences

ViBatchte is a proprietary app built on open-source software. Each component keeps its own licence. This page lists them and says where their source code lives.

ffmpeg and ffprobe

ViBatchte does not carry ffmpeg inside the app. On first launch it downloads ffmpeg and ffprobe once and runs them as separate programs: they are not linked into ViBatchte.

Build configuration

As printed by ffmpeg -version for this build; ffprobe prints the same line:

--prefix=/Volumes/tempdisk/sw --extra-cflags=-fno-stack-check --arch=arm64 --cc=/usr/bin/clang --enable-gpl --enable-libvmaf --enable-libopenjpeg --enable-libopus --enable-libmp3lame --enable-libx264 --enable-libx265 --enable-libvvenc --enable-libvpx --enable-libwebp --enable-libass --enable-libfreetype --enable-fontconfig --enable-libtheora --enable-libvorbis --enable-libsnappy --enable-libaom --enable-libvidstab --enable-libzimg --enable-libsvtav1 --enable-libharfbuzz --enable-libkvazaar --pkg-config-flags=--static --enable-ffplay --enable-neon --enable-runtime-cpudetect --disable-indev=qtkit --disable-indev=x11grab_xcb

The licence line above is what the build itself reports with ffmpeg -L: it is configured with --enable-gpl, which makes the whole binary GPL. You have all the rights the GPL grants with respect to these binaries. Licence texts: GPL version 2, GPL version 3.

Binaries and source code

The binaries are published in the ffmpeg-8.1-macos-arm64 release on GitHub: it holds the very archive the app downloads, and the app checks it against the SHA-256 above before unpacking.

FFmpeg 8.1 source code: ffmpeg.org/releases/ffmpeg-8.1.tar.xz. The libraries compiled into this build are the ones enabled in the configuration line — x264, x265, libvpx, libaom, SVT-AV1 and the rest — and the source of each is published by its own project.

Inside the app

The app itself is built with these libraries and their dependencies, which are mostly under the MIT and Apache-2.0 licences. Their source code is on npmjs.com and crates.io.
